Now, listen again and follow along with the script below.

Dad:  Tom, what are you doing?
Tom:  Oh, nothing. I’m just watching TV.
Dad:  Why don’t we go out and do something?
Tom:  Well, yeah, it’s sunny, but it’s also cold.
Dad:
It’s not so cold. It’s only about 12 degrees.
Tom:  Really? That doesn’t sound very warm to me.

Dad:   Well, let’s go outside, anyway. The weather forecast says it’s going to rain tomorrow.
Tom:  Rain? Oh, I hate rain! If it rains tomorrow, do I have to go to school?
Dad:
Yes, of course you have to go to school.
Tom:  But I’ll get wet.

Dad:  No, you can bring an umbrella. And then you won’t get wet.
Tom:  An umbrella? No way! None of my classmates use umbrellas!
Dad:
Then you can wear your yellow rain jacket.

Tom:  Oh, all right. What’s it like out now? Did you say it’s sunny and 12 degrees?
Dad:  Yes. Celsius, of course.
Tom:  Of course! 12 degrees Fahrenheit is below freezing.

Dad:  Yeah, we just want to throw a ball around. We don’t want to throw snowballs.
Tom:  Hey, are you sure we should go outside now? It looks like it’s getting cloudy.
Dad:
No, it’s okay. The weather forecast says no rain today.

Tom:  No, wait a minute. I think I heard something.
Dad:  Yeah, that’s the sound of me opening the door and going outside. Hurry up! I’ll meet you in the park.
Tom:  Yeah, but, Dad . . . Dad! . . . I think I heard . . .
Dad:  See you at the park! Bye!
Tom:  . . . thunder!
